Same-Day Crowns

Enjoy convenient care with same-day crowns at McKenzie Dental Group

Start Anew with Same-Day Crowns in Springfield, OR

Same-day crowns for teeth are the most convenient option for teeth restoration. You won’t need a temporary crown or have to wait weeks for the permanent one to be returned from the lab. Also, you just have one dentist visit.

Additionally, you will enjoy increased comfort. If you’re concerned about discomfort and crowning teeth, remember that same-day crowns require fewer injections than traditional crowns. In addition, your dentist can create a crown model using a computer scanner instead of the gooey, unpleasant impression putty.

Our dentists can produce and insert a dental crown that is permanent in just one visit thanks to the innovative CEREC® technology. It is more effective, in addition to being simpler and quicker.

CEREC® has revolutionized the restorative process. It was created with the patient in mind to make a visit to the dentist as pain-free as possible. Some of the benefits of using CEREC® are:

  • Most procedures can be done in one visit – less costly and less time-consuming
  • Less painful injections due to single-visit
  • No need to take messy impressions
  • No need to have a temporary restoration for in-between visits
  • Ability to save as much natural tooth structure as possible
  • Longer lasting restorations – may last over 10 years
  • Restores teeth to natural beauty, function, and strength
  • Metal-free restorations

  • What is a dental crown?

Dental crowns are used when a tooth has a very large filling that exceeds the natural tooth structure, your tooth had root canal therapy, or for cosmetic reasons. Dental crowns have many applications. The first is to be installed over a damaged tooth to cap the existing structure, which restores the damaged tooth so it can be used normally. Crowns can also be attached to dental implants to replace missing teeth; these implants will be surgically inserted into the jawbone and serve as the root for the tooth. This procedure keeps the crown steady and secure.

Additionally, dental crowns may also be used to provide extra support for dental bridges. They do not require any special treatment and can be brushed and flossed as normal.

  • How does a CEREC® dental restoration procedure work?

The first step of this procedure is to prepare the tooth for dental restoration. Varying from patient to patient, the dentist takes photos of the affected teeth using either one of CEREC’s® imaging solutions:

Using the CEREC® Omnicam, the dentist takes multiple images of your tooth, sending a colored, 3D model to the CEREC® machine.

Using the CEREC® Bluecam, we coat the teeth with a contrasting agent before taking images of your teeth.

Then, these highly detailed images are sent to a computer screen where the dentist can view the affected tooth or teeth from every angle in order to design the final restoration. Once the design is complete, it is sent to the milling unit to conclude the restoration process.
