CEREC Same Day Crowns in Eugene/Springfield

The CEREC same-day crowns milling machine allows our dentists at McKenzie Dental to create your new crown right in our office. No longer do you have to come in for two appointments and spend 2 weeks in a temporary crown. Now you can literally have your final crown or bridge done the same day! Also, our Cerec scanner takes place of those gooey impressions!

The name CEREC is an acronym that stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics - also known as CERamic REConstruction. This cutting edge technology in dentistry enables patients to receive a custom fitting tooth in approximately an hour. You can stay in the dentist's chair while everything is completed. The end result is a long lasting porcelain crown with a custom shade match. We save both time and inconvenience for the Eugene and Springfield community.

How Does The CEREC Machine Work?

The CEREC same-day crown machine uses CAD/CAM technology, incorporating a camera, computer and milling machine in one instrument. Our dentists at McKenzie Dental in Springfield use a CAD camera to take an accurate scans of the damaged tooth and opposing arch. This optical impression is transferred and displayed on a color computer screen, where the doctors use CAD (Computer Aided Design) technology to design the restoration. Then CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) takes over and automatically creates the restoration while you wait. Finally, our dentists bond the new restoration to the surface of the prepped tooth. The whole process takes only about two hours!

What Are The Benefits For Dental Patients?

All porcelain restorations are long-lasting and durable. Porcelain crowns are bonded to the tooth rather than cemented, so there's no need to come back into the office for those pesky re-cements when the crown falls off. The porcelain crown is natural-looking, compatible with tissue in the mouth, anti-abrasive and plaque-resistant. You also are able to see potential decay beneath the crown with an x-ray before it's too late, unlike with gold or other metal crowns. CEREC has over a decade of clinical research and documentation to support the technology. The restorations have been proven to be precise, safe and effective.

McKenzie Dental is a proud provider of CEREC Same-Day Crown technology in Eugene and Springfield. Why not call us today or request an appointment to experience the benefits for yourself?
